Owls janë disa nga grabitësit më të popullarizuar, jo vetëm për zakonet e tyre të natës dhe fytyrat mahnitëse shprehëse, por edhe për aftësitë e tyre të shquara dhe për shumë legjendat dhe supersticionet që i rrethojnë. Ato gjenden në mbarë botën dhe mund të jetë më e lehtë se sa shumë zogj të kuptojnë se shkojnë për t'u ulur dhe t'i shtojnë këto zogj të shquar në listën e tyre të jetës . Për më tepër, shumë owls janë zogj ambasador idealë në aviaries, zoos dhe qendrat e natyrës, kështu që të gjithë mund t'i shohin ata afër dhe të njihen mirë me dhëmbët e tyre të preferuar.
Llojet e Owls
Ka më shumë se 225 specie të bagëtive në botë, të ndarë në dy familje. Owls barn me disqe të tyre të fytyrës të dallueshme të zemrës përbëjnë familjen Tytonidae , ndërsa të gjitha llojet e tjera të bagëtive janë në familjen Strigidae . Mund të duket sikur ekzistojnë shumë lloje të tjera, për shkak se shumë kasolle shkojnë me një numër të emrave të ndryshëm të zakonshëm nëpër vargjet e tyre. Popullatat lokale gjithashtu mund të pësojnë kërcënime të rënda në pjesë të rangut të tyre, por nuk konsiderohen të rrezikuara ose të kërcënuara në mbarë botën.
